GETTING HERE AND BEING HERE
This page is to help you with logistics, travel, and staying in Santa Fe. Please do visit our Origins and Orientations page to read more about this Place and the role played in the emergence of our conference — and also to read of Northern New Mexico’s storied role in consciousness-oriented astrology the past 100 years.
OUR VENUE
We are delighted to be at the Santa Fe Community (Un-) Convention Center, not your typical convention center: our group rooms are warmly appointed in the recognizable Santa Fe style, and the campus integrates seamlessly with the heart of town where it is located. The Center is just three minutes walk to the Santa Fe Plaza and ten minutes walk to the Santa Fe River. There are a wide variety of great cafes and restaurants for connecting with each other; as well as galleries and museums walkable all around, just right for quiet contemplation.
WHEN TO ARRIVE AND DEPART
One of the special aspects of our gathering is that we will be together for four full days. You should plan to arrive by the evening of Wednesday, October 1, in order to fully participate in the conference. The Riverwalk, Opening Ceremony, and Hearth-Setting on the morning of Day 1 are integral elements to the coherent field for our time together, and everyone is an important part of that. Care of self and one another is at the center of our time together, and creates the resources and connections that make for a rich and lively shared experience. We’ve designed the conference with attention to psyche’s need for warm-up, rest, and integration.
If it works for you, we hugely encourage you to come early or stay after: Santa Fe is a recognized destination for many reasons, most especially because of being a small town surrounded by stunning natural beauty and wilderness, with thriving art and healing communities, and an openness and creativity that has predominated for centuries. Here is a link for ‘all things Santa Fe’ in case you plan to be here before and/or after the conference: https://www.santafe.org/
WHERE TO STAY
There are many inns, boutique and large hotels, and vacation rentals (airbnb) within walkable distance of the Center. While it may seem that there is plenty of time to secure accommodations for the conference, it is important to note that Santa Fe is a very popular tourist destination, especially during the late summer/ early fall season. For the best rates we recommend that you book your room ASAP.
Most accommodations walkable to our site are in the moderate to high range for Santa Fe (though less expensive than most urban centers). There are also many more inexpensive options about a 10-to-20-minute driving distance, however please note that these will require renting a car which may still be preferable. There is ample free parking for conference attendees under the Convention Center. Note: Please do not plan under any circumstance to rely on Uber/Lyft or public transportation: Santa Fe is a small town and they are both totally unreliable - you could literally wait hours and miss your workshops.
The link below has a number of hotels/motels that are recommended by the city of Santa Fe, and can be searched relative to our venue. Please feel free to reach out to us as well if we can help you in choosing where to stay, a particular neighborhood, and so on.
ROOM-SHARING
If you are attending on your own but would like to share a hotel room or airbnb setup with another person attending the conference, you can let us know at the time you register — there is a space for this in the registration form — and we will place you on a list accessible only to other attendees so you can contact one another.
GETTING HERE - AIRPORTS
The local airports that are available if you are flying to the conference include the Albuquerque International Airport (50 minutes away) and the Santa Fe Airport (15 minutes away). We recommend that you book your flight travel as early as possible, as Santa Fe is a popular destination even into October.
Both airports have shuttle services available to get you from the airport to a drop-off location near the Santa Fe Plaza - and some hotels. Best to check with your hotel to find the best way to get there from the airport.
